Ian Chamings – Higher House Productions
Ian DJ’d in Bath’s superclubs while at Uni there, during which time he had an idea for an invention to mix music automatically. He put his international DJing career on hold to get a ‘proper job’ after graduation in 2000, when he trained as a patent attorney with a European law firm. Whilst there he was able to apply for a patent for the mixing system (CAMMS) which was granted in 2003. Ian shot to minor celeb fame and received investment via the BBC’s hit show Dragons’ Den, when Dragons Deborah Meaden and Theo Paphitis agreed to invest to develop the CAMMS prototype into a fully commercial site: MixAlbum.com which was launched in August 2007.
