Amongst Others was established in November 2005 – as an independent legal representation, management and consultancy practice specialising in entertainment, sport and music (but with a particular bias on music) and as a direct response to the requirements of the creative communities in the changing media industries.
The business rationale is to offer a highly personalised, responsive and pro-active client focused advisory and representation service. The key objective of the business is to operate as an embedded advisor within the wider team advising the client, as distinct from the traditional lawyer-client remote and isolated role, by cultivating close relationships with clients to ensure that there is an even exchange of information which affords the best response to capitalise on strategic and commercial opportunities in the market and, in appropriate circumstances, to provide innovative solutions to the challenges facing the creative industries.
Present client roster (in either a legal, management or consultancy capacity) comprises new, emerging and established artists and bands, songwriters, producers, production companies, managers, independent record labels and music publishers/ synch agents/ music supervisors, fashion design houses/ retailers, professional sports teams and personalities, celebrities, screenwriters, directors and film/ theatre production companies.
